ECO TOURISM BY MANVEER
WHAT IS ECO TOURISM ?
Ecotourism is a form of tourism involving visiting fragile,
pristine, and relatively undisturbed natural areas, intended as a
low-impact and often small scale alternative to standard commercial mass
tourism.
WHAT DOES ECO TOURISM INVOLVES ?
Ecotourism typically involves travel to destinations where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. Ecotourism
is intended to offer tourists an insight into the impact of human
beings on the environment and to foster a greater appreciation of our
natural habitats.
As
an eco-tourist, I decide to travel in a way that shows respect to
nature and does not contribute to its degradation. Additionally, ecotourism
is a part of environmental conservation, and understanding what the
needs of the people are who are local to the area so that I can help
to improve their quality of life.
BENEFITS OF ECO TOURISM :
1.Ecotourism helps protect natural habitats and pristine environments.
2. The wealth of poorer countries
is often tied up in natural resources like forests, minerals and land
that could be used for agriculture.
3. Exploiting these resources often means altering or destroying wildlife habitats and beautiful natural landscapes.
4. It promotes conservation of natural assets and enhances the cultural integrity of the local people.
5. Eco tourism has become the major source of income and is attracting lot of travel agencies than ever before.
6. It promotes the preservation of wildlife and the natural habitats.
